Frozen vegetables

Frozen vegetables solve two problems at once on a cruise: they come washed and cut, saving fresh water and preparation time in a cramped galley, and they do not deteriorate the way fresh produce does after a few days.

Green beans, spinach, stir-fry mixes, purées, ratatouille: they cook straight from frozen, in a single pan. That matters when the sea is lively and time at the stove has to be kept to a minimum.

Plan them for the second half of your trip, when the fresh vegetables start to run out, and keep them in the coldest part of the freezer.
